Article No. 324984
Additive for improving the adhesion of certain coatings on selected metals and primer for MultiSil
Product specifications
The stated values represent typical product characteristics and are not to be construed as binding product specifications.
Field of application
- In solvent-based and water-based varnishes
- Aluminium, stainless steel, galvanised steel, non-stainless steel
- Other substrates require prior inspection
- Primer for MultiSil on non-absorbent substrates
Properties
- Significantly improves adhesion on selected substrates
-
Preparation
-
Substrate requirements
The substrate must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease and loose substances, and prepared in the correct manner.
-
-
Application
-
Seal opened containers well and use contents as soon as possible.
-
Application instructions
-
Check colour, adhesion and compatibility with the substrate by setting up a trial area.
When applying water-based varnishes to non-stainless steels, rust spots may appear on the coating.
If necessary, apply a second coat once the first is sufficiently dry, with sanding in between. Do not mix the second coat of varnish with the metal adhesion additive.
The additive may cause slight colour changes in coloured varnishes.
As a primer for MultiSil on non-absorbent substrates:
refer to the MultiSil primer table -
Drying
As a general principle, higher temperatures will reduce and lower temperatures will increase the times stated.
-
-
Storage / shelf life
-
If stored unopened in its original container in a cool, dry place and protected against frost, the product will keep for at least 6 months.
-
Disposal instructions
-
Larger quantities of leftover product should be disposed of in the original containers in accordance with the applicable regulations. Completely empty, clean containers should be recycled. Do not dispose of together with household waste. Do not allow to enter the sewage system. Do not empty into drains.
