Domestic soft woods like larch, European spruce and pine are popular both in a solid form and also as a veneer in living areas. They offer a good price-performance ratio and can be use in a number of designs with the right surface treatment.
Soft wood can be designed in many ways
Design options
Soft wood are real eye-catchers both when left natural (e.g. With a raw wood effect paint or oiled) or even when oiled.
In particular, a positive stain effect with special emphasis of the hard annual rings is still popular.
What do you need to bear in mind?
- Stir all stains carefully before and after processing
- The end colour is only achieved after painting and may vary depending on the paint type.
This is why you should always create samples first - If necessary, wet the wood before staining to prevent stains forming.
- Positive stain agents may only be dried at room temperature for optimum effect.
