Fine-pored luxury woods such as walnut, maple and cherry wood are still first choice for realising very valuable furniture and surfaces. Very stylish and at the same time modern looks can be created perfectly with matching stains and wood finishing systems.
Design options
Fine-pored luxury woods are stained differently depending on the type of wood:
Whilst walnut is sometimes stained very intensive and dark to create an elegant finish, more subtle stains are usually used for lighter woods like maple and cherry wood.
Of course, these wood can also be given a transparent coat (e.g. a raw wood effect paint) to create a stunning finish.
What do you need to bear in mind?
- Stir all stains carefully before and after processing
- The end colour is only achieved after painting and may vary depending on the paint type. This is why you should always create samples first
- If possible, spray small quantities of stain on luxury woods to prevent blotchy finishes
- Also, gradual, thorough wood sanding (up to P 180) has proven beneficial
- In the case of complex part geometries, we recommend using Aqua BB-007 brilliant stain for spray applications

AQUA BB-007 brilliant stains
If a very high brilliance level is required on fine-pore luxury wood, and if stains are to be prevented and an even finished is to be achieved on large, difficult geometries, the Aqua BB-007 kit is the right choice. By lightening and mixing the basic colours with each other, it is possible to create an almost infinite range of colours. This collection also has other mixing examples with Aqua BB-007.
