Interior insulation on external walls has a special impact on the physical behaviour of the construction. In particular, the water vapour diffusion and possible moisture penetration and the limited drying potential after exposure to driving rain needs to be taken into account when selecting the right insulating material when adapting dimensions.
Medium insulation
The poorer a material conducts heat, the better the insulating effect. The insulating effect is primarily influenced by the thickness of the walls.
Depending on the choice of surface quality, different system components must be used. The following explains the quality characteristics of the surface quality Q1 and Q4:
Q1 to Q3 surfaces
Basic filling (Q1) is sufficient for surfaces for which there are no optical (decorative) requirements.
Q2
Quality level 2 (Q2) is the standard filling. It corresponds to the normal requirements for walls and ceiling surfaces. Joint areas, fixings, connections, inside corners and outside corners are equalised by stepless transitions of the surfaces.
Q3
Higher requirements for filled surface. Additional measures above and beyond basic and standard filling are also necessary. Filling according to quality level 3 comprises both the standard filling (Q2) and also a broader filling process including precise screeding of the joints.
Q4
The quality level 4 comprises standard filling Q2 and smoothing of the joints including full-surface covering and finishing of the entire surface with a suitable material (layer thickness greater than 1 mm).
